Nelson Mandela chose Rust en Vrede wine for the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize dinner, and the Estate blend has appeared four times in Wine Spectator's Top 100; it was named Platter's Wine of the Year for other red blends in the 2020 guide with its 2016 vintage, and also rated five stars in the 2019 and 2022 editions.
